Video games are filled with possibility, infinite options. To be an effective video game designer you must clearly articulate meaningful goals and, when they are executed properly, show how they will change player behavior. In this talk we’ll discuss the importance of goal writing and how they shape everyday decisions in making games. No matter your discipline, you should leave knowing how to demand excellent goals from your designers.
Steve is a 16 year vet of the video game industry dabbling in just a bit of everything. He’s been a developer, tester, program manager, and now game designer. He’s worked on a broad swath of tiltes, including Forza, Viva Piñata, Mass Effect, Halo Reach, and Crackdown. And after an eight year stint as a Senior Program Manager for the Social Team at Xbox, he’s now a Senior Game Designer at Bungie, delivering social gaming experiences in Destiny 2.
