Date: March 6, 2017
Location: EAE Masters Game Studio
User Experience Research is a generally established field in the tech world but it has specific and sometimes unique applications into the games world. In this talk we will go over some of those unique applications as applied to the games world. Some notable sub-topics addressed in the talk will be: prototyping experiences, first-time user experiences, discovering requirements, oh and helping make games fun.
Ramon Romero is a long-time Games User Researcher who is part of the crew who started it at Microsoft in the late 90s. In 2010 he moved over to gaming platform work and eventually grew into the Research Manager position on the Xbox. In 2015 he returned to gaming work, this time with Sony in San Diego, where he manages a team of researchers devoted to maximizing quality for the studio’s releases.
